Primary Modules 1 & 2

Primary Modules 1 & 2 are the two core units underpinning ACNEM's formal education pathway.

Together, they constitute approximately 30 hours of training and provide foundational knowledge in nutritional and environmental medicine (NEM).

Primary Module 1 is taught in a face to face setting three times each year and Primary Module 2 is offered annually.  Both modules are available online year-round.  Participants gain access to online content for a three month period for each module and are required to undertake a number of activities to obtain certification.  These activities include prescribed reading, an online reflective journal, logged hours of relevant clinical practice, writing a case-study and a short online quiz.

Topics covered in Primary Modules 1 & 2 include:

  • Introduction to NEM
  • Vitamin C and antioxidants
  • Nutritional biochemistry
